Post by: Curtis Kitteringham on Fri, 05/04/12, 12:54 AM
This posting is a bit late but I would like to Thank Carolyn, Mike and Gray for all that they have done for the Masters over the years.
For the first year Carolyn was Bill Hart's person to go too, then the National Chairman for three years. Mike has been the West Coast Vice Chairman for a number of terms,Gray who has keep us in check with the funds and also was always there to help, my hats off too the three of you and all that have severed before me. I would also like to Thank those of you that when asked or not asked are always ready to help when needed. The Scale Masters would not be what it is without the members and clubs that host the Qualifiers and the Champs. Now what can we do to keep the Masters alive, that is the million dollar question is it not. We can shoot to the moon or just keep chipping away at little changes or find a middle ground that will work in today's world. One thing that is new to lot of folks is the buddy system, go to the Qualifiers in groups sharing the cost of gas, motel, food and so on. I for one was the person to drive/motel/meals on my own now in the last four years I do not go to any event with out finding one or more to share the cost. This was not a brain storm idea it was so simple, because the cost was getting out of hand. I have said this for some time now find someone in your club/area that would like to fly in scale competition and help them. I have thrown out a couple of simple ideas, with the hope that you will take them/add to them and make them yours. For the West Coast Area please drop me a call/email with idea's, help for your event or just what you would like to see the Maters for the future.
